Why We Start With the Cupboards

Wine-ohs remodels kitchens in Irvine, and we approach every job from the inside of the cabinets outward. The visible parts of a kitchen, the countertop, the backsplash tile, the hardware finish, are the parts people spend the most time choosing. They are rarely the reason a kitchen is frustrating to use. The frustration is usually a pantry where the back row is a mystery, a corner cabinet that has become a storage unit for things nobody wants, and a counter covered in appliances because there is nowhere to put them away.

So the first visit is a walkthrough of what you already have. We open doors and drawers, we ask what you cook and how often you shop, and we measure the awkward things: the stand mixer, the tall olive oil bottles, the sheet pans and the stockpot. Those measurements set drawer heights and shelf spacing. Everything else in the design follows.

What That Looks Like in Irvine Homes

A lot of the homes we work in fall into two groups. Older tract houses in villages like Woodbridge, Northwood and Turtle Rock often still have their original oak cabinets, sometimes with sound boxes that are worth keeping and fitting out properly. Newer homes near the Great Park or in Portola Springs usually came with builder-grade cabinets that look fine and store poorly. Condos and townhomes add an association review step, and shared walls limit where plumbing and venting can go.

How We Work

• We tell you when not to replace. If your boxes are solid, retrofits may get you most of the way for far less.
• We plan for how you shop. A household that buys in bulk needs a different pantry than one that shops twice a week.
• We handle the paperwork that applies. Where work needs a City of Irvine permit or association approval, we prepare the drawings and schedule inspections.
• We keep the scope honest. You get a written list of options and prices, and nothing gets added without your say.
